When people go to college I feel like they gain this "I'm better than you" mindset. Whenever I look on Facebook in September, girls have photo after photo of giant vodka bottles, beer, and slutty outfits. Boys have photo after photo of beer, shitty nightclubs/parties, and them with girls. I mean I get that you're in college and all, but you're not really much different from when you were in high school a year ago.
As much as I truly enjoy creeping through blurry drunk photos, I can't help but be a little annoyed that this is what clogs my Facebook newsfeed. Then again, I'm not sure what else I can expect from Facebook when a majority of my friends list is high school students/college aged kids. But I can't help but feeling like each and every person that goes to college wants to try and outdo one another. I feel like it's a constant battle of who's having more fun. I could be wrong, but why else would people be constantly posting photos of them at their Welcome Week concerts blatantly drunk, taking photos of themselves with their new biffls, and making sure/not caring that alcohol is in every 2 or 3 photos? Who is it you want to impress? The other people in college that are trying just as hard to impress you?
People's filters seem to come off too. As much as I would love to give you advice on what to do with the girl that's sleeping next to you, I think that the fact that you would ask me what to do is pathetic and scummy. I'm not easily impressed no matter how many chicks you claim to be getting with.
I know I shouldn't judge, but I don't find smirnoff bottles, bud light cans, and group photos any measurement of how much fun people are having. I think it's a little pathetic. I know I may be seen in photos with a red cup/beer in my hand when I head off to college, and I may sound like a pissy little high school senior, but I feel a little annoyed by these University albums. Enjoy your fun, but for god's sake... It's getting to be a little much.
